We are partnered with a scaling, award-winning digital agency based in Soho, who are at the forefront of the digital space and are looking for a highly credible, ambitious thought leader in SEO to elevate them to their next stage of growth. The highly technical Head of SEO will create and drive new strategies to optimise every SEO touchpoint whilst leading and mentoring an awesome team.


  • Develop and maintain relationships with a portfolio of clients and have a thorough understanding of their goals and product offering
  • Be accountable for implementing, driving and optimising SEO strategies
  • Lead pitches for UK and global search strategies
  • Be a source of knowledge for all thing’s SEO, proactively sharing ideas and recommendations to the rest of the business
  • Ensure the product offering remains competitive, capitalizes on organic growth, new business opportunities and maximises operational efficiency through the latest technology
  • Lead, coach and mentor the SEO department, ensuring the team have clear objectives and development plans
  • Hire and scale a team to enhance the product offering and deliver a market leading product
  • Be responsible for the commercial growth of the department
  • Collaborate with the board and senior leaders across the agency as a means of knowledge sharing and to develop brand affinity
  • Through industry connections and networking, identify new business opportunities, gaining knowledge in the latest advances in digital marketing, media and SEO

About You:

  • Track record of successfully developing and executing SEO and integrated search strategies across multiple verticals and markets, within an agency environment
  • Detailed focused, data-driven and creative, able to create and execute clear and concise briefs, whilst providing strategic direction
  • Respected and well-connected leader, able to inspire, influence and challenge the status quo
  • Thorough understanding of SEO techniques, tools, digital channels, proactively keeping up-to-date with the latest innovations
  • Holistic and in-depth knowledge across all digital channels and campaigns, including a thorough understanding of Google algorithms
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical software such as Google Analytics, BrightEdge and other common web analytics platforms
  • Highly collaborative with excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of earning trust from the team, fellow leaders and clients
  • Natural coach, mentor and talent magnet, able to motivate and provide direction to the team
  • Strong networker and thought leader, regularly attending/speaking at media/SEO/agency events
  • Excellent portfolio of relationships with the most highly regarded media companies and agencies
  • Strong budget management and forecasting skills, able to pre-empt potential problem areas and identify new opportunities
  • Self-aware, able to recognise areas of self-improvement and development, and able to tailor communication style to intended audience
